Several geologic units are found before reaching the alluvial and piedmont formations (pebbles).
On either side of the granite and its sandy – or sandy-clayey – soils, the metadioriteand metabasaltin the blue stones blend with other more siliceous-looking, pinkish-grey rocks.

The soils composed of pebbles produce fruity, tender and harmonious wines.
